Online and in email, Flavorpill publishes weekly guides to cultural goings-on in various cities in the US and UK. When we collaborated with them on a full site redesign in 2005, Flavorpill wanted to unify its online presence and dynamically integrate the content with its back-end database, presenting the editorial in a more cohesive way while still acknowledging the unique personality of each city.
To help Flavorpill transition to a richer web presence, we designed a modular site that presents the breadth of their content within a clear and simple interface, anchoring the user within the publication of their choice while offering them curated slices of content from other pubs that might interest them. And to lend the site a signature visual dynamism, we coded it with CSS style sheets so that the colors of each city publication can change weekly to match its "cover," or header image, a hallmark of each new issue of Flavorpill.
